Biography

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and private practice owner with experience working with adolescents, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds.

Memberships: Member of the Texas Counseling Association, Member of ACA, Kate Walker Training 40 Hour Supervisor Course Graduate

Education: I earned my counseling degree from the University of Houston Clear Lake and am currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Saybrook University with a concentration in psychophysiology. My doctoral studies focus on the relationship between the mind and body, including the autonomic nervous system, stress physiology, resilience, and the application of biofeedback and neurofeedback interventions. I am particularly interested in how psychophysiological approaches can be integrated with evidence-based psychotherapy to support healing, emotional regulation, and overall well-being.

Theory and Specialties: My clinical specialties include trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, immigration-related hardship evaluations, shame and self-esteem concerns, and the unique challenges faced by high-achieving professionals and first-generation individuals. My theoretical orientation is primarily informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, somatic and mind-body approaches, and trauma-informed interventions, including EMDR and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Supervision Info: Face to face supervision, Virtual supervision, Triadic supervision (two people attend and counts as individual), Group supervision, Monthly invoicing, Online scheduling system, Supervision times before 5:00 PM, Supervision times after 5:00 PM, Weekend supervision times

As a supervisor, I strive to create a supportive, collaborative, and growth-oriented environment in which supervisees can develop clinical confidence, strengthen case-conceptualization skills, and cultivate their authentic therapeutic voice. I value cultural humility, self-reflection, ethical practice, and ongoing professional development. Supervisees can expect a balance of encouragement and constructive feedback, with attention to both clinical skill-building and therapist well-being. I am particularly passionate about supporting clinicians from historically underrepresented communities and helping supervisees navigate the challenges of private practice, professional identity development, and trauma-informed care.

As a first-generation Mexican American therapist, I also understand the importance of culturally responsive care and the impact that identity, family systems, and community can have on the therapeutic process. I welcome supervisees who are interested in developing culturally attuned, trauma-informed, and mind-body-oriented clinical practices.
