Q: If I finish this program, am I automatically a supervisor?
A: No. The Kate Walker Training Supervisor Courses only meet the education criteria set forth by the licensing boards. Upon completing this program, participants seeking the clinical supervisor credential must still meet the criteria mandated in their state regulations, apply, and pay all applicable fees. State licensing boards have ultimate jurisdiction.
Q: Is this course approved by the Virginia licensing board?
A: The Virginia board does not pre-approve individual supervision courses.
This course covers all required content areas listed in Virginia Department of Health Professions Board of Counseling 18VAC115-20-105
Your certificate will document 20 hours of NBCC-approved supervisor training meeting all Virginia content standards.
Additional requirements include:
Q: Can you guarantee that my certificate will be accepted by the licensing board and they will automatically give me my supervisor designation?
A: Remember the licensing boards have final say. If you are missing experience hours or you are trying to transfer from another state, the board may have additional requirements for you. Also the board may have additional requirements due to rule updates. So while we have never had one of our certificates denied by any board we are aware of, we cannot guarantee that the board will give you your supervisor designation.
Q: This course is online but do I ever get to talk to an instructor and ask questions?
A: Yes. We have a weekly Zoom/virtual study hall that our instructors and graders attend.
Q: Are there payment plans?
A: Yes, we proudly accept Affirm and Klarna. Just click here and request a link.
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: We accept major credit cards, Amazon Pay, Link, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and ACH payments.
Q: Is there a deadline to complete the course?
A: Certificates reflect the date you begin the course (purchase or voucher activation) and the date you successfully complete all coursework.
If there is no external deadline imposed by your licensing board just know that Kate Walker Training revises and releases updated supervisor courses annually. For this reason, participants are encouraged to complete their training within one year of purchase to ensure continuity with the current course content and requirements.
Q: Will this course prepare me to supervise in private practice or as a business in Virginia ?
