LMFT-S 202339Biography
Hi there! A little about me: I began working in the non-profit world with several child advocacy centers and received intense training and exposure to trauma-informed care. During this time, I worked part-time in private practice as a contract therapist. After a few life detours, I eventually started my private practice in 2020. My specialty has been working with South Asian individuals and couples. I chose this because I experienced firsthand the impact of how cultural teachings dictated my choices for a long time despite those choices not always aligning with me. My work focuses on empowering my clients and helping them break free of rules they've felt they need to live by. It's liberation work. As a supervisor, I want to provide a space for clinicians of color to be seen and help them develop their skills. The models we learn are just the beginning, and they often don't include the nuances of the cultures of the global majority. When working with me, you'll always have a safe space, encouragement and understanding, but you can also expect a redirect if things need realignment. I want you to feel confident in your skills and feel good about your work, and I will do what I can to support that journey.
