Biography

Rooted in authenticity, my supervision style is very similar to my therapy style – collaborative, tailored to the individual, and grounded in attachment and relational neuroscience. I am passionate about creating connection, growth, and sustainability for those living and working with stress and trauma including other therapists and healers who find themselves working in the trenches. With a decade of experience, I have worked in both nonprofit and private practice settings working with adults, teens, and children. I have specialized training and experience working with perinatal/postpartum parents, international transplants, first-responders, and LGTBQIA+ communities, all of which are near and dear to my heart. In supervision, this means we would talk a lot about how to organize treatment to maximize healing using what we know about neuroscience, attachment, the nervous system and the brain during times of stress and trauma. Supervision builds on my experience gained in many diverse settings including starting and running a private practice, as well as working at a child advocacy center, a safehouse for trafficking survivors, an international domestic violence shelter, a sexual assault resource center, a headstart preschool program, a university counseling center, substance abuse recovery programs, a residential home for at-risk youth, and many years working in child care before becoming a therapist. Most of my experience was gained state-side, but some was gained when working and traveling internationally and has led to my experience working with international transplants and the expats community. If you want to learn more about my style and see if we might be a good fit for each other, check out the supervision tab on our website: https://www.thrivetherapyhouston.com
