Education: I received my Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from Sam Houston State University in 2010. I specialize in working with Grief and Loss across the lifespan. I especially enjoy working with cancer survivors, terminal illness or chronic illness, multiple losses, life transitions, caregivers, and infidelity, I am a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, trained in Brainspotting, and trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and combine it with mindfulness based approaches and self-compassion. Ideally, I aim for providing one 2-hour group supervision per month and 2 triadic supervision sessions (with partner) per month. Some months it is triadic supervision due to availability for group supervision.
Theory and Specialties: I have experience with a number of areas including: hospital setting (inpatient, IOP, PHP, non-profit, private practice, and college setting. I have experience working and supervising older children, teens, adults, couples, groups, and family counseling with a variety of issues including: self-harm, suicidal thoughts, trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression, infidelity, relationships, grief and loss, burnout/self-care and more.
