Education: I obtained my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Texas A&M University and Master’s in Counseling from Sam Houston State University.
Theory and Specialties: I am a bilingual English-Spanish Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor and a Licensed Child Care administrator in the State of Texas. I have over 15 years of experience in counseling in private practice, non-profit, and for profit organizations working with Unaccompanied Minors, Central American Immigrant families, and other Youth at-risk populations. I am also a third year doctorate student in Counselor Education at Sam Houston State University and my current areas of research include Latinx populations, Bilingual Counselors in Training, and Bilingual Supervision. I use the discriminatory model of supervision utilizing teaching, counseling and consultant styles to help counseling associates learn and grow. I have no more than 6 supervisees at a time to ensure adequate time and opportunity for learning. I utilize virtual supervision allowing for a diverse group of supervisees across Texas, enhancing learning and experiences.
