Your Guide to Course Elements
This course relies on buttons to click, profile elements to modify, and links to navigate, so let’s take a look at them one at a time.
Saving Your Work
Like most servers, ours times out if you leave a window open too long. Be sure to save your work as you progress through the course. If the system times out you will need to log back in and resume at your last completion point.
Kate Walker Training courses are divided into modules. Each module, whether it is a lesson, quiz, video, or something else, will have a lecture number. If you are having difficulty with your course, make sure you refer to the course name and the lecture number in your correspondence with us.
Most Kate Walker Training courses have a fixed beginning and end date. Many of these dates are mandated by license laws. Your course will display your time remaining in a yellow ribbon at the top of your Curriculum tab in your Profile page.
Your profile contains the courses you have purchased and information we need for our records. Notice that your course has a Passing Grade and Progress.
- Your passing grade tells you what percentage you must attain to successfully complete the course and get your certificate.
- Your ‘Progress’ will let you know how far along you are in the course.
When you click your settings tab you will see where to upload your photo and change your personal settings. We must have your photo for our records. Your public name is what appears on your certificate.
Here are directions for uploading your photo. Your complete profile will look like this:
The Complete Button
Most Kate Walker Training courses require you to complete 100% of the content. That means you will need to click the ‘Complete’ button to get credit for completing the module, lecture, or lesson. The Complete button should be grey while you are working on the content.
When you click the Complete Button, a green check mark will appear next to your completed lesson or quiz in your course navigation like this:
Warning: Don’t click the Complete button if you have not actually completed the content. You will not be able to undo this and we may need to re-set your progress back to the beginning.
When you complete the course, you will see a button that allows you to access your completion certificate. You can download this certificate if you need to submit it for any reason. At Kate Walker Training we will keep your certificate in our records for six years. If for some reason you cannot access your profile, simply contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can get you a copy.
Here is a view of your certificate. It will document your course name, public name from your profile, your completion date, the number of hours you will have for your continuing education credit, and information to contact us. Note that the download button may be quite small, it just depends on your browser.
If you have a question about something we didn’t cover, let us know by emailing email@example.com.
