40 Hour LPC LMFT Supervisor Training Course and SO MUCH MORE!
Q: If I finish this program, am I automatically a supervisor?
A: No. The 40 hour LPC LMFT Supervisor Course is not a certification course. Upon completing this program, participants seeking the clinical supervisor credential must still meet the criteria mandated in their state regulations, apply, and pay all applicable fees. State licensing boards have ultimate jurisdiction.
Q: Is this course approved by the Texas LPC/LMFT licensing boards? I remember that courses must be taught by approved providers only.
A: There is a two-part answer to this:
The LPC board requires the course instructor to be a LPC Supervisor and Dr. Walker is a LPC Supervisor and LMFT Supervisor.
Additionally, the Texas LPC regulations require LPC Supervisor training courses to meet certain criteria. The Kate Walker Training 40 Hour LPC LMFT Supervisor Training meets or exceeds Texas LPC and LMFT standards.
When the Texas law changed in 2019 allowing the 40 hour training to be offered completely online, Kate Walker Training was the first to take its approved workshop and convert it to an online format. We complied with the 40 hour requirement by going the extra mile and using NBCC standards for text and video lectures.
Bottom line? We believe our carefully crafted content along with requiring participants to complete assignments provide an advanced, rigorous, post-graduate experience future supervisors can be proud of.
Q: I didn't think we could take the 40 hour LPC LMFT Supervisor Course completely online. Did that law change?
A: It did indeed.
Limits on online, asynchronous CEs for LPCs were removed in 2019.
LMFT regulations still stipulate only 15 CEs can be accrued from an online asynchronous non-interactive course each renewal cycle, but only 14 hours of this course are asynchronous and the rest are interactive.
Q: Other courses offer free tools and resources after participants graduate. Does this course?
A: You betcha. Graduates get a free one year membership to the Step it UP Community where they'll get:
Listing for life in the Texas Supervisor Coalition Supervisor Directory.
Supervision tools, trainings, and paperwork resources
The business of supervision and practice tools, trainings, and paperwork resources
14 online Supervisor CEs
Tickets to the live, virtual Texas Supervisor Coalition Monthly Consultation Meetings for a total of 12 hours of continuing supervision education and ethics. Groups feature a different speaker and topic each month.
Discounts on supervision and consultation
Affiliate link they can give to colleagues who want to take the 40 hour training
Q: So this course is good for two years?
A: For LPC, yes. LMFT doesn't specify.
Q: How long can I take to complete the 40 Hour LPC LMFT Supervisor Training?
A: If you are a LPC, according to Texas LPC 681.147 (2)you have 90 days to complete the course requirements. At Kate Walker Training we start the 90 day clock when you purchase the course.
Q: I am a LMFT. Can I take more than 90 days to complete the 40 hour LPC LMFT Supervisor Course?
